APPLICATION: The aim of chemical hoods is to protect users against harmful and unpleasant substances given off during the work done in the glove box. They are designed to be used in work on almost all types of solid, liquid, and gas chemical substances, exceptions being hydrofluoric acid and explosive substances, like ether. Due to the materials used to construct the working chamber and the ventilation duct, the hoods may be used when aggressive substances are dealt with for a long time, ones which are identified and carried outside the laboratory. Ventilation is forced by the connecting of a hood to the ventilation system of the plant where the laboratory is located.
TECHNICAL DATA:
- the structure of a fume hood is made out of metal sheets and steel sections coated with epoxide powder paint,
- the window frame can be lifted, and the panes can be moved horizontally within the frame;
- ceramic working plate; if required by the customer, a plate of other material may be installed;
- the interior of the working chamber protected by epoxide paint or covered with ceramics;
- the interior of the metal ventilation duct protected by epoxide paint or covered with polypropylene;
- hydraulic system (water and gas valves, etc,),
- wiring system (master switch, overcurrent switch, 4 sockets, lighting breaker switch, air-flow signalling device)
- the fume hood fulfils safety requirements according to PN-EN 14175 and DIN 12924;
- below the working plate the fume hood is equipped with laboratory cabinets or a cabinet for chemicals, featuring a fan independent of the plant’s ventilation system.
